3 Favorite Art Pieces
Title: "Life"
Media: Acrylic This art date was inspired by a quote by Augustus Rodin. Rodin stated, "The main thing is to be moved, to love, to hope, to tremble, to live." in this painting, I have incorporated symbols of the main qualities Rodin explains is needed to fulfill life. Love- heart Hope- light at the end of the tunnel Tremble- the dark tunnel Live- ribbons in heart The grey symbol in the background is the symbol of balance, as all things should be. |
Title: "Queen"
Media: acrylic, magazine clippings For this art date, we were asked to pick our favorite artist. I chose the British band Queen because of my personal connection with their music. Queen has produced hundreds of emotional songs for their listeners to interpret and form connections with. I decided to use the famous pose by Freddy Mercury because I believe it portrays the image Queen wanted their fans to see: unity and strength. The magazine clippings spell out the encouraging song lyric, "The Show Must Go On". The final element in this painting is the magazine clippings in the top left corner of the page. These clippings are of "Supernovas", which are exploding stars. This is to be taken as a literal analogy towards the band and their fame. |
Title: "Exhale"
Media: Acrylic and Watercolor This art date was inspired by a guided meditation. During the distressing process, we were asked to distinguish our negative thoughts and fill our minds with positive thoughts and beauty. We were also asked to surround ourselves with positive vibes and creative atmospheres. This painting is what I invisioned me recreating these actions. |
